ever have one of those days when you look into your closet and hate every single thing
you see? yeah, me too. it’s quite funny actually because depending on the day and mood i
can seem to love or hate my entire wardrobe. don’t ya just love being a girl? so when i’m having one of “those” days i decide that i just have to mix it up. i have to pair
something together that i normally never would and wear it like it’s the best creation ever.
something exciting, something bold. above i paired a bold cropped blazer with a printed
tee, and patterned pant. add in a crazy shoe and somehow, it just works.
if doing something like this scares you (it used to me) just remember these three tips:
1. give yourself plenty of time to get ready.
why? because piecing a bold outfit together can be a lot of trial an error. the more you do it
the better and quicker you’ll get at it but for starters give yourself an extra 10-15 minutes just
to pick out your outfit. and try some crazy things out that you normally never would! sometimes
you’ll know right away that it works and other times it will take you 4-5 combinations of different
items before you have a winner, but it’s ok! you’ll slowly get comfortable with making a bold statement.
2. pick a pop of color
sometimes just picking a pop of color can give you a bold look. say you’re wearing a pair of
jeans and a white tee, a teal colored blazer, or a pair of red wedges would totally make your
whole outfit flossy. yes. flossy. if you aren’t to the point where you’re comfortable mix-matching
patterns and colors {and don’t worry you’ll get there} start with just adding a simple pop of color.
3. be confident
believe it or not one of the number one keys to working any outfit is being confident. i know for
myself when i walk out of my house unsure about what i’m wearing a carry myself in a totally
different way then when i know i. look. good. so when you’re trying new things, and you look
in the mirror and YOU like what you see, then decide you don’t care what anyone else thinks
and wear that bold outfit with confidence. you’ll be surprised how good it feels and how many
compliments you get!and it may not even really be because you’re outfit looks so great
but because you are so confident about what you’re wearing.
