Last weekend, Kyle + I got to sneak away for a fun date night with two of our friends for the Chris Tomlin show. It seems like it’s becoming more and more rare these days that we’re able to squeeze in a date night at all. This show was the perfect excuse to enjoy a night out. The show was being put on by Transparent Productions, a local promotions agency, who do shows not only in the Southern California area, but also across the nation. When Kyle + I met, he was working with Transparent Productions and we used to go to shows together all the time. It’s funny how times change when you have kids, even though you hope they won’t.

Chris Tomlin has been touring the country promoting his amazing new record Burning Lights and traveling with him are Kari Jobe + Louie Giglio. Can I just tell you how amazing it was to worship with 18,000 other people in an open amphitheater?! So amazing!! The show was completely sold out and it was so evident that even as people showed up, so did God in the midst of us. I found myself looking around for so much of the night in awe of all the people, hands raised, praising Jesus. How often do we take this privilege for granted!? There are so many countries where people are forced to worship in hiding for fear of being captured or even killed, yet 18,000 of us worshiped out in the open. Incredible!!

I’m so excited for some of the concerts Transparent has coming up. Not only is Hillsong United coming to town on June 7th, but FISHFest all day music festival is happening on June 29th. In fact tickets go on sale Friday, May 3rd, so be sure to get yours before it sells out. It’s guaranteed to be a great day of live music. Just check out this line up!
