One of my most favorite things about blogging has been the incredible people I’ve met. Five years ago when I met Erin, she introduced me to the Back to School Eve celebration. Every year, the night before the first day of school, she would cook her little favorite meal, set the scene for back to school and she even creates a new family theme each year for their school year. I stole/borrowed that idea the first year that Katelyn headed off to preschool and every year since. Our family looks forward to it and we carve out time for it every year.
We talk about what they’re excited for, nervous about, hoping God is going to do in their lives, friends they hope to meet and things they’re hoping to learn. It’s a time of joy, laughter and a wonderful way to celebrate the end of a great summer and set the mood for a great school year. This year we’re adopting the theme that our kids school has decided on because I love it so much.
“Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is UNSHAKABLE, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping Him with holy fear and awe.” Hebrews 12:28 NLT
No matter how well we plan
And when it does it can sometimes knock us off our feet
Just like how life happens, there will be times at school
where they will have tough days
maybe even days where they just can’t seem to get that new concept.
Yet, we have this great reminder
that in the midst of it, we are
Not on our own, but through our worship of Him.
We’re a week into the new school year and they are settling in already and loving every minute of it. I’m so excited for what this year will hold for them.
What are you most excited about this school year?
