It’s hard to believe it’s already been 3 weeks since we celebrated little man’s birthday party. I’m sure I will say this every year for the rest of his life, but I really cannot believe that he’s 4! I think time is playing a horrible trick on me. This year I wanted to do something fun and special for Brayden’s birthday and incorporate more of a fall theme. Last year we threw him a super hero party, and while I’m sure he would’ve loved that again this year, with the weather cooling down earlier than normal, a camping themed party was in order.
When I began brainstorming ideas around Brayden’s camping party, I didn’t want it to be a typical camping party with a camouflage tent, etc, I wanted lots of color and I wanted all the desserts to be in the S’mores family. The true inspiration for this party was the Land of Nod teepee’s and The Printed Palette’s “I’ll be in my Tee Pee” shirt design. I was thrilled when I had the opportunity to team up with them both to make this party perfect!

I’m not a huge fan of “goodie bags” filled with all kinds of toys and trinkets from the dollar store that we all know are going to end up in the trash once your little ones head to bed. I really wanted to create a treat for each child that they could use during the party or take home with them for later, so I made S’mores kits. Each kit had graham crackers, marshmallows and Hershey’s mini snack size chocolate bars so each child could make 3 s’mores with their kit. They were a hit at the party!! I added a Tee Pee label to the front with a dash of wash tape and they were good to go. I made 30 of these kits and it took me about 30 minutes, so really not too much time at all.
The cupcakes were from Once Upon a Cupcake. Kelly is local and she makes the most amazing cupcakes!! If you’re in Orange County, you must check her out. The cake was a S’mores inspired chocolate cake with marshmallow frosting and chocolate ganache drizzled on top. The cake topper was my favorite!! It’s from the most adorable shop called Swoon Paper Market. Lauren has all kinds of beautiful cake topper created from wood in her shop and she also creates paper products as well. It was the first dessert to disappear once we sang Happy Birthday to Brayden.

The photo booth is a MUST at every party. It’s such a great way for people to leave with a memory of how much fun they had at your birthday party. This photo booth, I have to say, is my favorite one I’ve ever created. The tee pee’s were the perfect backdrop to our faux campsite, complete with sleeping bags and a fire to keep us warm. I just love how the felt arrow garlands from Aidie’s Hideaway ties it all together! If you haven’t checked out her shop, she’s got some beautiful garlands for Christmas. It’s not too late if you get your order in now.

We ended the night by showing Brayden’s favorite movie Turbo outside on the lawn. We asked everyone to bring warm jackets and blankets and I provided the popcorn. The kids loved it! I’m pretty sure we will be doing many more movies on the lawn when the weather gets a little warmer again.
I just love how this whole party turned out! Thank you to everyone to celebrate with us!
