That’s a hard one Alissa! I have only been away from Remy for 8-10 hours for a date date when she was around 7 months old or so. Bryson I have left for a few consecutive days at a time and he’s always been fine. He’s always with grandparents and loves it. I guess just don’t stress out too much about it so you can enjoy your time knowing your kids are in very capable, fun hands. 🙂 Facetime. A lot. That’s what I would do!

The last time I left my kiddos was just a couple weeks ago, but it was only for 3 days. I left her little gifts to open for each day I was gone. That seemed to help ease her about me being gone, I think anyway you slice it’s hard. But it’s ok! 🙂 They still love us and like you said enjoy the extra time with loved ones while were gone! I travel without my kids quite often, but typically its 3-7 days. Most recently, I was away from them for 5 days, came home for 1 day, then turned around and left for another trip for another 5 days. The hardest part at this stage in life is planning for all their carpools/activities to make sure everything is covered. Other than that, I trust that whomever is taking care of them will take good care of them. If I leave my husband home, I typically pre-make a few meals and stock the fridge, just because he works 12+ hr days and I’d rather them not eat a frozen pizza 😉 If I leave them with my parents, then I don’t have to worry about a thing.

Hey Alissa!!! If your kids have a bedtime routine and your can Skype or FaceTime I would do it during book reading time. That is if you guys do that before bed. Or if it fits into your schedule, I bet you are busy at the conferences.

It could also be a count down each night until you get back. I have not been away from my kids that long but my husband travels for schools with his job and we’ve used Skype a lot.

I’ll be traveling to Europe for two weeks with Hubby this summer, and this will be the first time I leave my toddler for more than 12 hours, so that would be hard. *tears*

I’d probably ask you to teach me the in’s and out of blogging. We’d probably talk about that and of course, we’d also talk about my girls, I always find myself doing that. 😀
