Coffee Date: 9 Years

If we sat down for coffee, I’d probably offer it to you with ice in a mason jar. It’s been so warm here in Southern California, I’d tell you we should sit outside on our couches and enjoy the warmth while we sip our ice coffee.

I would tell you that this Sunday marks 9 years since Kyle and I began our journey together as a couple.

9 years!

It seems like an eternity, but I remember our first date like it was yesterday.

I remember the first time he held my hand.

Our first kiss.

The first time he told me he loved me.

Those firsts feel as though they just happened.

Yet all this time has passed.

Our journey has traveled so far in the last 9 years.

I would tell you it feels as thought he’s been in my life for a lot longer than 9 years.

I don’t even remember what my life was like before I met him.

It’s as if my life hadn’t reached it’s full potential before he became a part of it.

For that I’m so grateful to God for working in my life in deep and wonderful ways to prepare me for my life with this man.
