Hello friends, Happy Friday! I feel like this week has totally thrown me for a loop because of the holiday. Today I had every intention of vlogging for our coffee date + the next thing I knew it was 10pm! Is it just me or did you feel like this day just flew by as well? Celebrating the 4th of July mid-week throws me off, but I’m excited for an extra long weekend to spend time with my family.
If we were having coffee I would invite you inside and ask if you want to enjoy our coffee iced with a touch of vanilla creamer. Then we would head outside and sit under an umbrella outside while my kids run and play on the swing set. It should keep them busy for a little while so we can chat. I would ask you how your 4th was. Did you get together with friends? BBQ? Light fireworks? We’ve been hearing them for days from the moment the sun goes down.
If we were having coffee I would tell you that today was amazing! It was fun, relaxing and filled with good food + lots of laughter. Life is too short to not be spending time with good friends, laughing and enjoying life. We had a low key 4th with just a couple families who came over to bbq and swim.
I would also tell you that it was the perfect day to enjoy a swim in the pool + it melted my heart to watch Katelyn play with her older friends. She’s becoming so much more confident in the pool and it’s fun to see her jump in and have fun with her friends. I also love that she’s a responsible swimmer and has no problems bossing people around when they don’t follow the pool rules. She certainly has a mothering personality.
We ended the night with lots of fireworks and sparklers. I love our neighborhood because everyone comes out on the street and does fireworks together. This year Cristina + I played around with the camera and got some great fireworks pictures. I’ll be sure to share them with you tomorrow.
I’m so thankful we live in a nation where we have so many freedoms other countries don’t get to experience. I’m especially thankful that I am able to freely worship Jesus + share openly all the amazing ways he touches my life. Having grown up overseas, I have experienced first hand the oppression felt by those who live there. We truly are blessed + owe much to those who fight for our country every day so we can keep these freedoms.
If we were having coffee today, what would you tell me?
