Happy Friday my friends! Today’s coffee date vlog is brought to you by some strange dance moves and my inability to get through a vlog without any quirkiness coming through. Be sure to link up any post inspiring you this week.
If you’re liking up this week be sure to pop by someone else’s blog and say hello.
Your hair is getting so long again, does your hair grow fast or does it just feel like it?
Yes, what is that end of summer bickering?! It was so bad for mine right before school started.
That’s totally why I haven’t gotten Alea into anything yet! I feel a bit guilty, but gymnastics would be on Wednesday nights and I totally need Wednesday nights to study for class on Thursday. Oy! Maybe once I’m doing with nursing school we’ll be able to get her into more things. And hopefully you don’t have to freeze your tookus off watching soccer 😉 She could have picked a more exciting sport… sheesh! Haha!
Ah ha ha you are so cute without makeup! And I hear ya on the sudden change of plans anxiety! Before I had kids I was Little Miss Spontaneity, but now if things don’t go as planned, I get crazy stressed and anxious, and I also tend to get angry and bitchy. Not my best moments, for sure, but when you have four little kids to tote, it can get super stressful!
And as for kids in sports, mine are still too young, but two of my uncle’s kids are in MULTIPLE sports, and I can’t for the life of me wrap my head around it. They are on the move 100% of their free time. I wouldn’t even call it free time, because it’s spent driving around, sitting at games, and sometimes they have to split up because the kids have games in different cities. BUT! they are also super intense, like want to make it pro kind of people. For some reason baseball is a huge huge huge thing for my family, and we have a lot of talented people (one uncle was in the majors back in the day, and even Afton shows talent with the ball, ugh), but it just seems like way way way way too much for me. I’d rather have the kids focusing on school and music than sports, because in reality, only 1% of all college-bound athletes get a scholarship for sports, and of those 1%, only 1% make it into the pros. Not good odds!
Aaaaaaand, I’m babbling, sorry. Anyway, it wouldn’t hurt to let her try it, she may love it, she may hate it, but either way you might regret it in the long run if you don’t let her try, especially since it’s the first thing she’s shown interest in. I tried soccer once when I was a kid. Hated it, ha ha ha. I loved softball, until a ground ball popped up out of my glove and smashed my mouth in. That was unpleasant. Adult, co-ed softball is so much fun though.
make up is totally overrated! + i agree – we are learning that it’s not necessarily about the big grand gestures (although they are fun!) the moments where you read the book when you’re too tired or run around in a sprinkler + get full of mud – those are the best moments!
we’re not quite at the sports phase yet but zachary has asked a couple times — i always look into it when it’s too late to sign up ha .. oh well. once he starts kindergarten next year i’ll try to get more serious about it. i’m sure she’ll love it + you’ll be so proud of her that bundling up to watch won’t matter much 🙂
