So my opinion is pro-uniforms because I was in public school and unlike 90% of kids I WISH i had uniforms to never be jealous or wanting of the next clothing trend. All through school I was this way and on one occasion asked my parents to go to private but funds weren’t there to do so. I could live with uniforms and being the same, having clothes laid out and ready. (sorry so long)
And I’d love to have coffee with you and tell you that I am linking up this week in written form because I love this series. I will also be checking out your love story. How can you link posts all to one page?

The town I lived in only had a little over 20,000 people, and only one high school. We didn’t wear uniforms, and they still don’t. Where we were wasn’t a suburb of any larger city, so there weren’t too many issues with clothing and jealousy and all the other crazy stuff that I seem to hear about in larger areas.
We went the private school route with Afton, my eldest and first kid going to school. She started at Primrose on Monday and she wears uniforms and I just love it. It’s so easy and she looks so cute. Plus I was able to score 4 polos, 2 skorts and 2 jumpers for only $50, which is a huge win in my book! I think a good 75% of the school districts down here in Phoenix do uniforms, and I am all for it. I think kids are more able to be kids when they don’t have to worry about their clothes and who is the most fashionable and omg I need this shirt and those jeans!

I seriously think that how adorable they look in the uniform is a bonus for me as a mama. haha
Although I will say I paid more than $50 for all her uniform stuff, but still far less that I normally spend on school clothes and shoes during the year. I agree that not having to worry about your clothes keeps the focus where it should be…. on learning.

I kind of like the idea of uniforms. I however grew up in the public school system and did not wear a uniform (ever). I did marry a former skateboarder (high school sweethearts) and he got in trouble constantly for holes in his jeans… they usually duck taped them, lol. I think I got in trouble once for wearing a shirt that said “bite me” from Ed Debevics (the restaurant in Chicago).

I had periods where I had to wear one to school and then periods where I didnt, but looking back I’m glad I wore a uniform in high school because I never felt like I had to compete. haha. I love that you married your high school sweetheart, I bet y’all have such a beautiful love story!

Girl, I can’t believe we have Kindergartners!! They grow up way too fast! I am SO not ready for Jay to start school in a few weeks.. I am going to miss him so much!! Also, I think it’s great y’all are sending her to private school. I really wanted to send Jay to private school this year but it wasn’t in the cards for us – so hopefully by 1st grade we will have him in private school. I went to public school all my life but, I had a lot of friends in private school growing up and they just seemed to do so much better in school then those of us who went to public school!
Also, I think uniforms are a YES! You don’t have to worry about “looking cool” when everyone is wearing pretty much the same thing! 🙂 & I think y’alls love story so far is great!

I can’t believe it either!! How did they turn 5 already? I’m seriously dying.
When does Jay start school?
I’m seriously obsessed with uniforms. I’m sure she won’t always like it but hopefully one day she will thank me!
