Hi Loves,
Happy Friday!
Can you believe it’s Friday already? It feels like it’s been a pretty long week around here.
If we had coffee today I’d tell you I haven’t been to bed before 1am any night this week.
I would tell you that I’m working on a new something something.
It’ll be in the shop soon!
But even though I’m exhausted, it’s a happy exhaustion and I can honestly say my heart is full.
I would tell you how for the first time in a year I’m working on a Bible study with friends.
It’s from the YouVersion Bible App and it’s called Soul Detox.
….it’s amazing!!
If you want to join, we would love that. On Twitter, use the hashtag #shespeakstruth & #souldetox
Today we’re on Day 9.
I would also tell you that’s it’s amazing what a daily reminder about purifying our hearts and minds of toxic thoughts can do to prepare you for your day. The words I’ve read have really helped me focus on the Lord’s truth rather than the enemies lies.
Are you a part of this study with us? What do you think?
Then I would tell you this is happening in my house right now.
Or I should say attempting to happen.
When I say attempting it means that this kid wants to spend half the day tinkling in the potty and the other half in his pull up.
Oy Vey!
Boys are a whole different animal.
Any tips for getting this kid fully potty trained before I loose my mind?
If we were having coffee today what would you tell me?
If you’re linking up today, please:

i would do a 3-day boot camp at home. no pullup, no undies, nothing from the waist down. cordoned off a tiled/wood part of your home with cheetos & hawaiian punch — which will give him PLENTY of chances to go potty!! the first day will stink, the second day will be an improvement, the third day will be the day of victory…. but you must consider this the most important thing for 3 days. no going out. no grocery shopping — home, potty training. all. day. long. been there, done that – survived! call me for support! 🙂 {oh yeah, and once you do this, all undies, all the time – he’ll have accidents, but he’ll learn when he feels it run down his leg and into his sandal!}

Hope you get some rest this weekend momma! But I am excited to see what you’ve been working on. You are so right when it comes to boys! They are a whole different animal 😉 Ha! Ditching the pullup and rock’n just undies is what finally worked for my oldest. Good luck!

A pretty much potty trained himself. But I can tell you what I did – maybe some of it will work for you?
1 – pull-ups at night only.
2 – 30 minute timer. he knew when the timer went off to try. if he didn’t go – he didn’t go and i wasn’t nagging him. 30 minutes then turned to an hour which then turned into him saying, “I need to go potty”
3 – taking the pressure off. me and him. the only person in control of where/when he potties – is HIM. pushing him to try going potty on the potty. pushing him to get off the potty. pushing him at all just lead to frustration for him and me. changing MY attitude – changed his. and we’ve had two accidents in the last week. he helps clean them up. i don’t stress. he’s getting it.
Your little buddy will get it. I promise (and I’ve heard good things about bootcamp)

My guy was over three when he was finally trained…let’s see, he was three in March and it was that summer that it finally worked…he was really intentional about everything he did…didn’t walk until he could run sort of thing…and his dad and I separated when he was 2 so things were stressful for him and as Kate said, he was the only one that could control it and in our case, I think, because other things seemed out of control…that was one thing he tried to control…crazy kid.
The good thing is, he will get it, and it will be fine…it just seems like it’s taking forever, but in the grand scheme of things…it will be fine!

I’ve been loving the Soul Detox study & the #shereadstruth community! Such a blessing.
Linking up my thoughts on a recent craft fair because it’s definitely something I would talk about if we had coffee!

Hey Alissa!
Do you have to be a twitter user in order to join the Bible study? I’m interested but don’t have a twitter account 🙂

i am loving soul detox. so much good stuff and truth for the soul.
i can’t wait to see what new goodness your putting in your shop. i hope you get some rest this weekend.
potty training a boy is harder… at least it was for me. summer was an easy time as he could go potty in the grass. it definitely took landon longer to be fully trained than the girls. good luck and be patient.

my potty trained my son using the book “potty training in less than a day” and it worked! it sounds crazy, but it’s true. also, I had him wear undies at night too. I just made sure to have a waterproof mattress cover on his bed. the first 3 nights he woke up because he had peed through…i quickly changed the bed and cleaned him up and put him back to bed. after those first 3 nights he didn’t do it again.

How am I just now stumbling on your blog?? Goodness, it’s beautiful! And aren’t you loving Soul Detox? I was thrilled to find it a few days ago and see the number of bloggers joining in. So encouraging.
By the way, the coffee date link up is so clever! Love the idea and I’ll have to participate soon 🙂
