i don’t know about you, but the first time i stepped out in colored pants/denim i felt like a walking neon sign . like everyone was staring at me thinking “wow…really?” ha! but once you get through that first encounter it’s really quite fun to snaz up an outfit with some color.
ya feel me?
the thing that stumps me sometimes is what to pair with these colorful bottoms. if you’ve ever found yourself in the same predicament here are some tips that might keep you from standing in front of your closet for 30+ minutes just staring at your clothes perplexed on what pairing to choose. {i really hope i’m not the only one who does that.}
2. add a pattern
if you’re feeling a little bolder add a fun pattern to your look. i love doing this! a black and white stripe, a neutral toned plaid or polka dots would make a perfect match with a hot hue as well. and it’s oh so fun to look at! love when i see girls patterning it up.
3. clash it
i know this is hard for some of us OCD girls who feel it’s their duty to make everything match. you kind of feel like a fish out of water if you have two clashing colors on. but let me tell you, one of the most visually fun and exciting things to look at is a pairing of two colors that you wouldn’t normally see together. now, obviously you can take this too far and it can look more clownish then stylish but subtle color clashes here and there can really make an outfit stand out. kind of like my shoes above, they don’t REALLY “matchy match” the outfit, but they work!

Where did those shoes come from??? Also going to be running to Target to find that sweater, I have a pair of mustard and a pair of purple pants that I love, love, love but I have yet to find the cream colored sweater to go with them, grey is always my back up plan.
