Welcome friends!
I feel like this has been a long time coming, and the only reason it took me so long was because I needed to lean into where God was calling me to next. It’s not a coincidence that as I sat among trusted friends one night, talking about our lives split between a love for Southern California and Tennessee, when I exclaimed, “well, we’re a little bit city, lil bit country,” that everyone unanimously agreed this could be the title of a song. There the new dream for this space was born. That dream has only grown since that conversation with an excitement much like cracking open your Bible every morning, or maybe, for some, like opening a gift on Christmas morning.
It was also not a coincidence that as I sat in front of my computer all day yesterday meticulously following installation instructions (thank you to the amazing team at 17th Ave. Designs) that one of my best girlfriends sent me a text with a word the Lord laid on her heart. Hebrews 13: 20-21
“May he work perfection into every part of you giving all that you need to fulfill your destiny. And may he express through you all that is excellent and pleasing to him through your life – union with Jesus the Anointed One who is to receive all glory forever! Amen!
I sat in this as I listened to worship music from my prayer playlist and clumsily attempted to customize this template for this next season. A peace that only comes from the Lord sat on me all day. “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Today I’m rejoicing as this vision that I’ve been quietly sitting on has been stirring for the last 6 weeks and I’m finally ready to share it with you all.

In 2016, after visiting Tennessee for many, many years and almost moving here in 2008, we bought our first property in downtown Franklin. A 116 (at the time) year old home with all the Victoria touches and some modern upgrades, what we really fell in love with was the screened in porch. In fact, it’s where I’m sitting as I write to you this morning.
We made the offer in August, closed in September and that November, we did our very first family road trip to drive out to TN from California. Since 2016, we’ve spent, as a family, 3-4 months of the year in Franklin and even bought a second home on 12 acres that it used often for retreats, family reunions and it’s our main hub when we come out to Franklin. I love that over the last few years we’ve been able to share our life in both places, and I look forward to continuing to do just that. God is moving in our lives here and in CA, and we’re honored to call both home.
All that to say, it’s safe to conclude that I’m a little bit city, little bit country.
So, with all that said, I hope you’ll stick around, pop in every so often and share your life with me in this new space. Same me, new look, that’s all that’s really happening, but it comes with a much needed inner heart shift. I appreciate you all and can’t wait for what God has to come….
xo, Alissa
