It’s hard to believe I’m on the countdown to the one year anniversary of my fitness journey. A journey I never meant to begin, yet it has become such a huge part of who I am. I think this journey has taught me so much about myself and shown me just how much I sometimes underestimate myself. I’m quick to assume I can’t do it or that I can’t keep up with others journey’s, yet I need to remind myself that the only person I’m competing with here is myself.
Am I still striving to be a better version of myself?
Am I still pushing myself to work harder? to be better?
Am I still finding ways to challenge myself even when it would be easier to take the easy road?
This journey has helped me look at myself in a new light. To translate over coming challenges in my personal life and in my business. It has helped me believe in myself in ways I never thought I would. Or maybe I should say in ways I haven’t in a long time. And the bonus? Well the bonus is that I’ve gone down a pant size and, at some stores, down 2 t-shirt sizes and I’ve lost 6lbs. I’ve also been given a new level of confidence! Isn’t it incredible what leaning into life changes can do for you in such unimaginably positive ways.
I’m not sure what my measurements will look like this month, but I thought I’d share with you some of the places I’ve lost the most inches in the last 11 months.
Shoulders – 1.7in lost
Chest – 2in lost
Arms – 1/2in lost per arm
Waist – 1.5in lost
Hips 1.25in lost
Glutes – 1.5in lost
I will admit that my thighs and calves are still my points of struggle and I often fluctuate month to month in terms of inches lost, but it’s usually up or down 1/4 – 1/2in. I may need to push myself harder to find ways to help loose in those two areas in 2014. Here’s to new goals right?
Thank you for all your encouragement and for following along this journey the last year. It has meant so much to me! I’m excited for my 1 year post and to be able to share some before and after pics from this year of transformation. I hope if there’s one thing you take away from all of this, it’s that you can do this! You may not think you can, but you can. I didn’t even like to sweat, let alone work out and now I can’t imagine it not being a part of my life. I hope you will consider, even a 3o minute workout. Take a bike ride every night, commit to walking 2 miles a day, something…. just do it! I promise, no one ever said they wished they hadn’t started taking back their life and taking that first step towards change. There’s no time like today, there’s no better moment than now! Let’s do this together!

Congrats on your accomplishment! I am in the same boat, but only on Day 5 of my lifestyle change, as I like to call it 🙂 I’m turning 30 in June, and am determined to be healthy and comfortable in my skin by my birthday. You are definitely an inspiration and look great!
