For the Love of Cricut

This weekend I was invited by my sweet, and very creative friend, Andrea, to a Cricut party. If you’re unfamiliar with the Cricut, I’m sorry, but I’m about to introduce you to a machine that you will fall in love with. I bought my first machine several years ago and have used it to make everything from paper banners to cupcake toppers, but the revolutionary new machine has capabilities beyond your wildest dreams!! Adorned with a mini exacto knife cutter, this baby can cut beautiful designs, not only into paper, but also fabric, felt, leather, thin plastic, vinyl, wood and so much more!

I have literally been dying to get my hands on one of these beauties and play around with it since I was at Alt Summit Conference back in January. It was everything I dreamed and more. I even created a little fun DIY that I’ll be sharing with you soon! But let’s get back to Friday night. Andrea planned a really fun painting craft around hexagons, and it was so much fun! The Cricut cut plastic hexagon stencils and you could tape down the stencils and paint or you could use the cut outs to build your own design with the hexagons touching. So. Much. Fun!

The event was hosted at Oh, Hello Friend‘s warehouse. If you haven’t had the chance to visit Dani’s store in downtown Fullerton, you must!! It’s absolutely beautiful and is filled with all kinds of goodies that will jump into your basket!

It felt so wonderful to create something for myself! It’s been a long time since I’ve sat down and done some crafting and mix that with laughter and beautiful friendships and it makes for a perfect night. While it was more challenging to stay within the lines because I didn’t use the stencil to paint, it was still so much fun.

And how fabulous are all the paintings everyone created?!! I’m in L O V E!! Thanks Andrea for a great night crafting and thanks Cricut for reminding me once again why I’m addicted to that machine of yours!
