There truly is nothing like words that are spoken through pictures.
Sometimes pictures can tell you more about a relationship than what could even be described in words.
A couple weeks ago my mom was in town and she really wanted to get some new pictures of her and the kids.
I reached out to my sweet friend Jamie, from Jamie Cornish Photography.
Jamie and I taught together before our littles were born and I was so thrilled to hear she had pursued her dream of becoming a photographer.
MEET JAMIE:
What inspired you to start your own photography business?
I have always loved photography, and have wanted to be a photographer since elementary school. I am always the one taking photos at events with family and friends, and then I had two babies, and the picture taking got out of control. My husband bought me my first DSLR camera and I promised to learn it and make good use of it. On New Years Eve, I decided it was going to be my New Years Resolution to start a little side business. I set some goals for myself and just went for it! I had my first client in February 2012, and I could not be happier with where this journey is taking me!
You are really great at capturing ‘in the moment’ photos! What is your secret to making each photography session memorable for the clients?
Being a new photographer, I don’t really have a secret, but I would have to say the location is key. I like my clients to choose a place where they feel really fits their lifestyle and personality. Not everyone loves to be photographed, so making them feel comfortable is really important.
Is there any bit of advice you wish you would have known, prior to starting your photography business?
I really wish I would have started sooner. I really really love what I do and it is so rewarding. Being a Wife and Mommy comes first, but it is a little something I can do for just me!
Jamie has so graciously offered to give one of my local readers a One Hour Photo Session complete with 20 images. How awesome is that?
Also if you schedule a shoot with her before July 31st, you will receive $25 off her session price.
