As many of you know, poor Brayden had a rough week this week. He’s doing much better and we haven’t had any more issues with him trying to break out of the house.
Kyle and I left yesterday afternoon for a weekend birthday celebration in San Diego. We pit stopped in Carlsbad for Queen Bee Market and then headed to dinner with friends.
At dinner we got a phone call from Kyle’s Mom.
“Hi! How’s everything going? Are the kids calling to say goodnight?”
I hear my sweet Mother-in-laws voice on the the other end as she gently breaks the news to me that Brayden fell and slit his chin open on a table. The bleeding is controlled, he’s calmed down and snuggling with Auntie Yaya, but…
“But he might need stitches? Do you need the insurance info.”
I seriously couldn’t believe how calm I was. I’m totally the panicky mom.
After giving my Mother-in-law all the important info I did what every good mommy who blogs does…
“Can you make sure to take lots of pictures…. of the cut and of course him getting stitches?”
Priorities right? haha
My amazing sister in law took Katelyn to Yogurtland, yes awesome aunties can take our kids for frozen yogurt at 9pm, and then let them stay up late watching movies while their baby brother is at the ER.
This is the picture Jan got of Brayden at the hospital. She said he was walking around saying Hi to everyone, chatting up a storm and didn’t cry once when the Dr. checked it, cleaned it and glued his chin back together!!! He even thanked them for the bandaid!
Thank you to everyone who saw our little man on Instagram and Twitter last night and said a prayer for him.
I felt so bad that my poor mother-in-law had to spend her Friday night at the ER, but I’m so grateful for her and the amazing doctors at Hoag Hospital.
Hopefully it doesn’t leave a nasty scar, we have a family pictures coming up at the beginning of July.
Again with those priorities.
We’re actually just relieved he’s ok and that they were able to “fix” his chin.
How’s your Saturday going?

My son had a Target dressing room door slam on his head when he was two it split it open and bled and bled and bled. He ended up with 3 stitches…and a tiny scar tht looks like General Grievous’ head (from Star Wars) it was traumatic for me…but he doesn’t remember it a bit.
Thankful your little man was in good hands and handled it so well!
