I’m sure that by now many of you are aware of the changes happening over at Google, including the passing of Google Reader. RIP. After spending a lot of time searching for a reader that works for me, I’ve finally settled on one. Feedly. I absolutely love how clean + easy to navigate Feedly is + I’ve found it to be the perfect replacement. I’m not trying to tell you that you need to use it over Bloglovin’ or the many others are out there, but more just letting you know how I’m going to be reading all my favorite blogs from now on. Oh, and did I mention how simple it is to move all your feeds straight over from your Google Reader? Simply click, ‘Connect to Google Reader,’ to get started.
Once you’ve logged in you can use their main menu to get organized. You can categorize, index, sort + create themes. Umm, hello type A peeps, see why I love this so much?!
Looking to add new feeds to your Feedly reader? No problem. Click the little magnifying glass on the top right sidebar and you can search by feed, url or topic.
I also love that Feedly allows me to view all my unread posts differently. They have a layout that works for everyones individual reading preferences. You can set it to Title Only, Magazine View, Cards View or Full Article.
One of my favorite features is at the end of each post there are share options. So you can Tweet, Facebook, Google+, Linkedin or even email the posts you love.
If you haven’t had a chance to pick a new reader, get on it. Hope to see you around Feedly!

Thank you for sharing this. I have been on a bit of a ‘blog hiatus’, I was aware that Google Reader went bye-bye and have been looking for a good reader since. Just clicked over there and wow, how easy and simple!

I’m so glad you wrote this! I switched over to feedly a few months ago and LOVE it! It seems that everyone is heading to Bloglovin’, but after trying that as well, I really like Feedly better. Glad I’m not the only one! 🙂
