“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17:20
It’s crazy amazing to think about what our powerful and wonderful God can do. He can take something as small as a mustard seed and with a lot of faith and a dose of hard work turn it into something beyond what any of us could possibly imagine.
It began with a tweet from Sole Hope. An organization I’d never heard of before. Dru and Asher, the amazing hearts behind this ministry, were readers of my blog, and felt led to connect with me.
And that small tweet pulled big time on my heartstrings.
The conversation continued when I shared about Sole Hope with my dear friend Natalie.
That conversation turned into a dream, a dream to help this amazing organization raise money.
for a shoe cutting party, for medical supplies, to be there for those in need. I can’t even imagine having to watch my children go day after day, plagued by these awful parasites, called jiggers, in their feet.
So we had a giveaway, and raised $140.
And then God called these two amazing people to step up to the plate and become ambassadors.
They took the ministry one step further and hosted an amazing shoe cutting party.
In faith, they sent out the invitations and put incredible thought into all the party details.
The day of the event they welcomed people into their home and they shared their hearts and passion for this ministry.
And look at all the incredible donations, given by our friends, to raffle off to help raise money?
I can’t help but become emotional just remembering this incredible day.
It might have been over two weeks ago, but the impact this organization and this friend have had on my life will last a lifetime.
Our incredible new friends came to help us cut shoes.
And boy did we cut shoes.
And when it was all over, and time to count the number of shoes cut and the money donated, we realized that God took a mustard seed and he moved mountains.
18 people cut shoes, 75 pairs of shoes were cut and over $1,100 were raised to go towards making these shoes and medical supplies for teams visiting Africa to remove these horrible jiggers from these precious children feet.
If that doesn’t show that God is great, mighty and able to big huge things through even the smallest group of people.
