| First pie I’ve ever made: Peach and Strawberry |
We had a fantastic time last weekend in Big Bear. Kyle’s family has a cabin and while we don’t get up there often, there’s something about being there that’s soothing for the soul. The last few months have felt like a roller coaster and in moments a train wreck and when we find those quiet moments I take them and hold onto them tightly. There was laughter, sleep, reading, snuggling, more sleeping, thunder and lightning, oh yes, an earthquake! The strange weather didn’t damper our moods or our fun while we were there. And the fireworks, oh my goodness, they were amazing! Worth every minute of the 45 minute wait on the water to get a good spot to watch the fireworks.
I hope you all had a great 4th. What was your most favorite memory from the weekend?
xo, Alissa

Your weekend looks like it was awesome! Plus that pie looks delicious! Our holiday weekend was at our church helping with our big Bar BQ, but then I got sick for the rest of the weekend 🙁 But I sat around and watched TV, so I can’t really complain!

They really were, I haven’t seen a fireworks display that amazing since I lived in Hong Kong. Every Chinese New Year they had the best fireworks!

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun in Big Bear! Funny, we were going to go up there for the show on the lake as well (we are about 45 minutes away) but last minute decided to stay closer to home. We visited the mother in law’s and had a BBQ with cheeseburgers, braut dogs, macaroni salad and chips n’ dip. About as american as it gets! lol
It was Levi’s first time seeing the fireworks too close up-completely mesmerized!!
Have a wonderful (almost) weekend Alissa!!
