Last week was a really, really busy week for us.
Seems like those busy weeks just keep piling one on top of each other, and while I’m blessed that my little ones like to sleep in till 8 or 9 in the morning, I feel bad when we are too busy.
Sunday I woke up with this feeling of….. I just want to go back to sleep.
My alarm went off. We were attending the 9am service because a good friend of mine and fellow MOPS mommy was having her baby girl dedicated.
A baby girl who almost made her debut a 6 1/2 months and her mommy laid in a hospital bed till she was 35 weeks to keep her in there.
A baby girl who I threw a shower for at that same hospital bed, in the same hospital room she was born in.
Yet as my alarm clock rang, I hit “off,” not, “snooze,” …. off
I rolled over with a groan, excuses running through my head as to why we didn’t need to be there, but I rolled out of bed anyway.
After dropping the kids off at church we find a seat as the worship band begins to play. I’m immediately engulfed by the presence of my Heavenly Father.
Renewed by Him. Blessed for being obedient to come and worship him. I began to hear a familiar beat, then the words of one of my favorite worship songs began.
“Our God is greater, our God is stronger,
God you are higher than any other.
Our God is healer, awesome in power,
Our God, our God.
And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us?
And if our God is with us, then what could stand against?
And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
What can stand against?”
How could I not raise my hands and worship Him who gives me strength, He who gives me life. In that moment I was so encouraged, so awestruck by His many blessings on my life.
I’m so grateful for such an amazing God. A God who found us in our time of need and lifted us up and carried us when we were too weak to walk. A God who has showed us the way, even if it involved a couple U-Turns along the way. He doesn’t do it because He has to, He does it because he WANTS to!
And that’s the most amazing, precious, awesome part of it all.
