Last week was an important week in our home, our little preschooler was chosen to be Person of the Day at her preschool.
B and I got to come and see all the opening chapel activities and then have a short visit in her classroom while they announced person of the day. I’m not sure who was more excited. K because Mommy was visiting her classroom or me because I was the proud mama.
Preschool has been such an amazing experience for my daughter. She loves it and the growth we’ve seen in her has been wonderful. She is memorizing scripture, telling us letters and sounds, singing us new songs and she loves her teacher. I know I could’ve home schooled her. I know I could’ve kept her home another year till she was 4, but I knew in my heart that she would love this. I knew that it would be good for her, good for me.
While her little brother and I miss her while she’s at school, he thrives off the excitement of her teaching him everything she’s learned. She’s even taught him A says ahh, ahh, ahh apple. Cute, right?
I think my little man was wishing he could go to preschool too. He looks up to his big sister so much. It’s really precious to watch and often causes me to get choked up. I hope they always remain this close.
So the Person of the Day get’s to sit in “the chair” as Katelyn refers to it. It’s a special chair and when you’re person of the day you get to sit there with the teacher and pick out your balloon and have it decorated with a picture. It’s very exciting!
Katelyn got to play “Mini Teacher” for opening time. It was so cute to watch her lead the counting and the songs for the days of the week and months of the year. It made me miss school! Yup, I’m one of those learning junkies! I loved school.
Congratulations big girl! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!! We love you so much.
