I love family traditions.
I love ones we began before our children were born and have included them in now.
I love creating new traditions because of our children.
Every year on July 8th, Chick fil A has an event where if you dress up like a cow you can enjoy a free meal on them. They even have cute printable on their website you can download to help create a cute cow costume for you and your family. Every year we go all out!!
This year was no exception. The kids loved it!! For them I grabbed white shirts from their closets and used safety pins to pin on some black spots. Kyle and I own cow costumes. I know, we’re nuts, but Kyle’s had his for years and we acquired a second one after Katelyn was born. We are always more dressed up than anyone else, but that’s what makes it fun.
We are those crazy, fun parents. And until we embarrass our kids like crazy, we will continue to indulge in this tradition every year. Because this is what our kids will remember when they look back on their childhood. They may go through a period where they are too embarrassed to even talk about it, but one day, when they are parents, this will give them the courage to do the same for their children.
I have no idea how I did this so I had to include it. Totally cracks me up.
What kinds of traditions do you have? I’d love to hear about them.
