It’s hard to believe the weekend is over and it’s back to the weekly grind. Unlike most weekends, last weekend started on Thursday night when I headed to one of my new favorite stores, Madewell, for some #mixwellmadefab fun with my girls Madeline, Ashlee and Nat. Umm, seriously what’s better than girls night out complete with champagne, macaroons and shopping?! We had so much fun and I’m telling you laughter that never stops is so good for my soul. Especially since I had recorded an emotional vlog that afternoon sharing some kinda big news about changes happening around these parts. I just want to say a HEARTFELT thank you to everyone, you’re comments, tweets, phone calls and text messages blessed my socks off. Some of you even texted you were praying for me on Thursday and you didn’t have any idea what I was about to share. How awesome is the God we serve?! He know what we need when we need it.
PS I did have a couple people ask about clutches before the shop “officially” closes so keep an eye out because I might do a last call.
Thursday nights festivities ended with this amazing dessert at Claim Jumper. Umm S’mores Calzone, what?!! Where have you been all my life?
Friday, I closed my computer at 4pm and spent time with my kids. We played puzzles, sang songs and just enjoyed time with one another. And that was all before we headed to one of our favorite family spots, Ruby’s. What’s a trip to Ruby’s without some balloon character making, right? This is some legit work right here….
Sunday, Kyle and I were invited to enjoy the day on a friends yacht. Can I just tell you I had no idea how to even spell the word yacht till I looked it up last Friday? Yup! That’s how fancy and foreign it is to me. While the kids lived it up at home with our sitter, we headed out on the ocean with new friends to spend the say swimming in Emerald Bay. Minus the fear of being eaten by sharks, because, yes, I’m an avid Shark Week watcher, I did manage to get gutsy and slip into the freezing water for a little while. Kyle, not only swam, but he jumped off the top of the yacht several times!! Gutsy I tell ya! Once upon a time that would’ve been me, but since having kids I figure one of us needs to be the grounded one… just in case. 😉
Not ready for the weekend to be over, I took this morning off and headed out the door to a cupcake play date with Nat and her littles. There’s nothing like starting the morning with some delicious cupcakes and girl time. If you haven’t made it down to Sweet and Saucy shop in Newport Beach, my girl Melody makes some delicious cupcakes and cakes.
I’m thinking we might need a cupcakes and beach day, you in?
With Monday already half over, I’m working on getting through my emails and gearing up for another great week.
How was your weekend? What kinds of fun things were you up too?
