Every night before my sweet little boy goes to bed we pray together.
We snuggle up under the covers + Brayden folds his precious little hands and touches them to his face.
He begins to pray aloud, ever so quietly he begins to talk to Jesus.
Dear Jesus, thank you for this day, thank you for coming over….
I keep my eyes close as he continues, praying for every one of his family members by name.
It’s so sweet, innocent, precious + filled with purpose.
What my mind wonders back to is that every night, as he prays, he thanks Jesus for coming over.
It got me thinking, how often to do we invite Jesus to come over and spend the day with us?
How often do we invite him + then remember to thank him for coming?
I just thought that was such a great reminder starting this week.
On another wonderful note, we had such a wonderful weekend. Kyle + I surprised the kids with a trip to see Disney on Ice Dare to Dream. Katelyn is head over heels for all the princesses and that combined with my love for ice skating, I knew we were in for a great day. The icing on the cake was that we let her dress up as princess to go to the show.
The show was INCREDIBLE!!!! From the time we walked into the Long Beach area we were overstimulated by the smell of popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones and the sights and sounds of Disney princesses everywhere. There were dolls, toys, spinning lights and even Cinderella’s carriage, built with care by the shows sponsor, Lego Duplo. We didn’t know where to start first. After settling for some water and a large bucket of popcorn we made our way to our seats. We were seated in the 3rd row on one side of the rink so we were right up front where the action was.
We got to see Princess and the Frog, Cinderella and Tangled on Ice and all three shows were all so well done. I felt myself getting a little teary at the end of each story as each women’s dreams came to life. It reminded me a lot of myself and how sometimes you just need to have a little courage, take the leap and follow your dreams. I think my favorite part of the show was Tangled on ice! The stunts they did flying through the air, with ice skates on no less, were so amazing to watch. Both kids were on the edge of their seats, eyes glued to the ice. Now Katelyn wants to take up ice skating, which makes this momma so filled with joy. I’m resisting the urge to take her this week and sign her up for lessons.
After two nights of heading to bed at 9pm, yes I’m a grandma and I haven’t even turned 33 yet (Ash, you’d be so proud), I woke up this morning feeling refreshed and ready for the day. After church I was invited, alongside some other amazing blogging gals to visit Lotus Salon & Spa in Costa Mesa, for a blow out. Woop! Umm, ya, you don’t need to invite me twice. Yes please, sign me up for some pampering.
We drank champagne, ate desserts + enjoyed some pampering from the amazing salon stylists. Barbara, who runs the salon is a total doll and I loved chatting with her. She and I both have little girls so instabond right there!!
And I mean, seriously, how cute did we all turn out?! So fun!
If you’re in the So Cal area, this is a salon you definitely want to visit!
