If you’re like me, you probably have several different notebooks that you carry around/have on hand for several different things. I get tired of the boring fronts, so decided to very quickly sew some covers. These took me less than twenty minutes to make, so really, the possibilities are endless!
All you need is two pieces of fabric, 16.5″ x 10.5″ (one front piece and one lining piece, the measurements will actually depend on your notebook, add 7″ to the width when open and 2″ to the length), your sewing machine, and of course a notebook to cover.
Start by placing your fabrics right sides together and sewing almost all the way around the rectangle leaving a small (1.5″-2″) opening on one of the short ends. Clip the corners after you’re finished sewing and pull through the hole to turn your fabric right side out.
Tuck in the raw edges and top stitch over the hole you created for turning. Press your piece flat making the edges straight.
Turn your piece with the lining facing up, fold and press the side pieces in 3″.
