Last night I had a dream.
I dreamt about all the clothes I had in my closet that I never get to wear anymore. Clothes that I love, but after having two kids don’t quite fit the same way they used to anymore.
Then as my dream continued I saw some of my outfits in a new way. I woke up this morning with a newfound excitement for my wardrobe and spent an extra ten minutes, I should’ve used to get my daughter ready for preschool to try on this outfit.
Instead wearing this skirt at my waist, I moved it up higher and belted it with a wide belt to add to my outfit. I threw on a sweater because it’s a chilly day today, and voila, a new outfit was born!
The best part, it’s still totally in style!
I think sometimes I get down on myself for not loosing my baby weight fast enough, not eating better, not being happy with how I look period. I’m totally guilty of letting this feeling extend into my wardrobe. So today, instead of complaining I have nothing to wear, I’m taking something I have, styling it in a new way, and rocking it in public.
What do you think? What are you restyling this week?

So how did you restyle it?! Was it not supposed to be high waisted? LOVE this outfit- but I think your white balance is off. Isn't it kind of a greenish skirt? Ugh- I just love it and your pairing is fabulous!

I love this! Oh, those boots. So dreamy. And I'm glad to know I am not the only one who finds that outfit ideas come to me in the middle of the night! Absolutely darling – and I have a similar wide belt that I wear OFTEN to cover a multitude of sins. 🙂

love love love it! so totally cute.
want to hear a funny story? right after I had Blake, my second, I did hte same thing…wore a denim skirt higher on my waist so it would fit. Only I forgot it had a pretty high slit in the back and walked into church with the slit up to my butt. SO NOT CUTE! When we left after the service…dave walked right BEHIND me!

you look really adorable. the boots with the outfit make it sassy!
i use to beat myself up all the time for not losing the baby weight. now i realize i'm 37, and it's not going to happen. i also think i better like this body while i've got it. even if i don't like it i need to force myself to like it for future me. i know 10 yrs from now she is going to look back and think what were you complaining about!?!
Object of Maya*ffection says
LOVE the boots! Isn't it funny how one lil change makes a whole new outfit!?!?
UpsideDown Kate says
Wow. You ARE rockin' it. Good for you! I beat myself up constantly for not losing the weight that I've gained since my hubby entered the picture – and it's hard because I look at you and think – what could she possibly complain about?!? But we all have those issues don't we? Even when I was a size 5 I had them (how I have no idea). Anyway…the outfit is AMAZING and that skirt is cute, cute, cute.
