AG Skinnys – Black Vneck Tee – Leather Jacket
Earlier today I shared a transformation Tuesday picture on my Instagram feed. On the left, a picture of myself from a little over a year ago and on the right, a picture I took a couple weeks ago. After sharing that picture I decided to snap a couple pictures of myself in almost the same outfit. It’s funny because I loved this jacket when I bought it. I got it for a great price, I loved the color, but I realize now that it doesn’t really do anything to show how much my shape has changed. Sure you can definitely see that inches have been lost between the two pictures, but I guess what I’m saying is that working out has not only helped me get healthy, loose inches, yada yada yada, it’s also made me keenly aware of what kinds of clothes I shouldn’t wear because they don’t flatter my new body shape. I guess I still have so much to learn.
I feel like there’s this balance of learning to re-work clothes I already have and wanting to rush out and buy all new clothes. Sure there are some pieces that fit way to baggy and so they need to be replaced by a smaller size, but then there’s other stuff that I own that just needs to be re-worked and mixed and matched with new pieces I have. I’m also learning that accessories can go a long way with an outfit. I’m tempted in this moment to say that this just makes getting dressed sound like so much work. Are you laughing with me? Maybe at me?
Don’t get me wrong, I very much love my new body and shape, I just wish I knew how to dress it better sometimes!
How do you re-work pieces from your closet?
