If I could give you one piece of parenting advice, I would tell you to throw everything you thought you knew out the window.
There’s nothing that can prepare you for what kids will do when you’re not looking.
And short of putting them on a leash, and don’t it hasn’t crossed my mind,
I’m not smarter that I was before Katelyn was born.
I always thought that being a stay at home mom would be easy.
Simple.
24 hours of fun, with 12 hours of glorious sleep every night.
Bunk!
I was lied to.
And the only reason I laughed at Kyle’s Facebook post when I saw it was because it happened to him.
While I safely enjoyed dinner with friends across town,
this happened to him.
Now excuse me while I go bleach her hands for the millionth time!
Please tell me I’m not the only one this happens to!

Well, let’s see…there’s always the story of what you doing in your crib after nap time!! Shall we tell that one??? 🙂
Kate says
bhahaha! the wonderful thing about it is that we’ve ALL been there. I’m glad you’re there with grace and humor.

oh boy! haha It’s so true though nothing can prepare you for what you will go through as parents. And no you are not the only one.. There have been so many things that I thought I was going to DIE but now they are just funny to remember!! hahaha Glad it was with daddy too!! hahaha

You’re so not alone…when my daughter was 8 months old I found her with cat poop in her hand…and the lady at the poison control hotline says it happens all the time 🙂 See, just call that hotline and have them tell you some of the calls they get and you’ll feel much better and not alone! 🙂 We mommies have to stick together!

I know exactly what you mean! Parenthood is a crazy roller coaster with so many emotions. One minute I am loving every second of it, the next I am wishing I could hide from my kids! Nothing can prepare you for it, no books, no advice, no classes and that is the beauty of this “club” that you join!
Andrea Worley says
So not the only one. Parenthood is one crazy ride, and Diana’s right nothing can prepare you for the craziness that ensues on some days.
Amber says
Once, after a long car ride, I found my daughter in her car seat, eating poop out of her diaper. Some days the best we can do is keep them alive! XOXO
Courtney says
HILARIOUS! Kids keep us on our toes. What else can you do but laugh in those situations. Plus – Dad’s rarely get the fun stuff like this… so laugh away!
Jenn @ The Jenn Diaries says
Hahaha!!! I think we’ve all been there! My kids once thought it was a grand idea to wash their hands in the toilet 😉
Sarah says
Ha ha. Hilarious what our kids can get into when we turn our back.
Erin says
Oh wow! This would definitely be something that happened when leaving the baby with my husband. Yep, you are not alone mama!
