I’m going to be honest with you and tell you it’s been a long ass couple days around here. My hubby left on a trip to Utah where he get’s to eat dinner in a huge field, hike, connect with some amazing people and sleep in a yert while I’m here entertaining kids 24/7 while trying to make sure that I cross off my work to do list before I leave for BlogHer. I won’t lie, it’s been a little stressful and I’m a little grouchy because I don’t sleep well when Kyle is gone so I’ve found myself up till all hours of the night. Ok, maybe it didn’t help that I was doing this till 4:45am on Thursday night, but it was worth it.
In the midst of all the working and planning, I’ve also been putting outfits together for my trip. I need a combination of clothes because this trip is a mixture of business meetings, conference stuff, and parties at night. Seriously, I think I need to invest in a bigger suitcase. I mean they charge you to put in on the plane no matter how big it is, might as well take advantage of the extra space. Am I right, or am I right? Travel style is really important to me. There’s nothing worse than flying across country and being completely uncomfortable in what you’re wearing. With that said, as much as I’d love to don my sweats, I have business meetings from the moment I land so I have to look somewhat presentable.
I put this outfit together this morning as we were running a full 30 minutes late for church. Yup, it’s a new record for me! haha It occurred to me that this is the perfect travel outfit. Comfy – check. Doesn’t dig into my tummy – check. Once again I’m reminded of my big puffy heart love for maxi dresses and chambray. I also have to tell you that I love how slimming this Chambray is! It’s Halogen brand and it’s on sale at Nordstrom right now as part of the 1/2 yearly sale. Get on it and get yourself one! You won’t regret it!
I’m also thinking about coloring my hair. I love the ends, but I was thinking of putting some darker roots in to give it more of an hombre look. Yes? No? I’m trusting y’all, don’t steer me wrong.
And just in case you wonder how I manage to get all these pictures taken each week, here’s a preview of what’s going on around me. All the while I’m praying they don’t knock over the camera sitting on my trusty tripod.
