Place your candy canes on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet with a sucker stick in the middle. Place the cookie sheet in at 350 oven for about 3 minutes {they should just be slightly soft}. I left the second batch in for 4 minutes and it was too long.
After I took them out of the oven, I transferred them to a plastic cutting board and pinched the tops and bottoms together around the stick. Be careful…they will be hot!
Don’t they look all cheerful and bright already?!
While the candy canes are cooling, melt your chocolate in the microwave.
I put my chocolate in a plastic bag and cut the tip off to make it easier to fill the hearts.
Cut a small hole. Mine was a little too big and it was hard to control the flow of the chocolate. Then fill away!
I added some sprinkles for a little added flair. Let set {you can throw…well don’t actually throw them, into the fridge to help them set up a little faster}
And there you have it! Bright and cheery cherry chocolate Valentine’s Day suckers. You can wrap them in the sucker bags with some cute ribbon and add a little love note to them for the perfect Valentine!
