This has been a week of celebrating in our household. I know that turning 3 might not seem like a large milestone to some, but for me it’s huge! Not only is my baby turning into a little girl and having full conversations with people, but she’s also starting preschool in the fall. What?! Crazy, I know! She is so excited about attending and I’m not sure if I’m happier she’s excited about school (it won’t always be that way) or sad that she feels independent enough to leave me two days a week.
We had a great time celebrating her birthday with a party, a trip to the circus, family stopping by yesterday to surprise her with a few gifts, and today an ice cream play date. Since Katelyn’s not the only one turning 3 and heading towards preschool, we had a “we’re going to preschool soon” ice cream play date with a good friend today. It was so fun. Our family really loves ice cream and it’s one of the special treats the hubby and I enjoy spoiling our children with on special occasions. I’m pretty sure turning three falls under the category of “special occasions.”
We headed to Walmart to pick up some Nestle ice cream snacks for our play date. They have so many yummy choices, I brought the kids along and let the birthday girl decide. I was looking for a snack size treat for the kids when we found “Lil’ Drums” snack size ice cream cones. Each box comes with 12 chocolate and vanilla ice cream cones. Perfect!! And the price? Even better!! The ice cream snacks were delicious and gone within minutes. Of course, not before I made sure to hide a couple in the freezer for Mommy and Daddy.
