What I Whipped Up: A Paint Swatch Garland

A couple weekends ago we hosted a Couples Wedding Shower at our home for some good friends of our. We are beyond blessed to have them in our lives and were honored to have the chance to celebrate a small part of the beginning of their new lives together. The colors for the wedding were a deep aqua, brown and white so I really wanted to incorporate those colors into the shower. Lo and behold, this amazing deep aqua color is so hard to find and match. Then when I was at Walmart picking up the Glidden paint for Katelyn’s bedroom remodel, I found this amazing paint swatch and it was perfect for the shower.

While the nice gentleman helping me was mixing my paint, I grabbed a handful of the deep aqua, dark brown and white paint swatches to use for the shower. After pinning around Pinterest, I decided to use the paint swatches to create a circle garland. It was so fun, and completely easy so I thought I’d share it with you.

1. First you’ll need to find the paint swatches you want to use for your garland. These are from Glidden’s Better Homes paint swatch collection… Thanks Glidden!!

2. Next you can use your Cricut machine, or you can hand cut with scissors circles, triangles, squares or whatever shape you choose to use for your garland. I decided to cut 2 inch circles because I could fit two on each swatch.

3. All done and ready to be sewn together.

4. When you get ready to sew your paint swatch circles together make sure that you leave plenty of thread at the beginning so you have room to hang it.

5. Begin with your first color and sew through the center. Then continue to add circles in the color pattern of your choice.

6. Don’t forget to leave some thread on the end when you are finished too.

Here’s how the finished product turned out. I turned our entertainment cabinet into a present table complete with my paint swatch garland and some burlap. The bride loved it so much, she took it with her to use at the wedding.
