Have I told you guys that I’m not a runner? Well I’m not. I’m not even really a walker. I’m more of a complain about my post baby weight while stuffing my mouth with chocolate kind of lady. Am I alone out there? Ugh, I know it’s horrible. Every night I tell myself tomorrow is the day I’m going to start strapping my littles ones in their stroller and go on that walk. Then the sun rises the next morning and suddenly I’m “too busy” to get my act together and go on that run walk. But the first step is admitting I’m horrible at this. We’re all friends, this is a safe environment right? [just nod your head it will make me feel a lot better]
There is a purpose to this rant, I bet you were beginning to wonder. Don’t worry, it’s not one of those posts. Whatever those posts are. [*insert giggle*] I have a close friend whose hubby works as the Director for Cystic Fibrosis in Orange County, CA and every year they do a series of walks in the month of May to raise money and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. For those of you who don’t know that this is CF is a very debilitating disease to which there is no cure. Can you imagine staring in the face of a disease, know it’s going to take over your entire body, fill your lungs with fluid, and then kill you and there’s nothing you can do about it. Sorry to be so real, but this is a horrible disease people!!
Last year my family began walking with my friends family [Go Team Walking Shu’s] in the Great Strides Walk to help raise money and awareness to find a cure for this disease. This year our team is hoping to raise over $1,000. We are also hoping to add more people to our team this year so that we can go above and beyond this goal. So if you live in Southern California and you want to join in, please email me because we’d love for you to join our team. The walk is going to take place at Huntington Beach Pier on May 21 and people it’s like 1.5 miles. So easy! Last year my almost 2 year old daughter walked the entire thing!! If you’re not a walker, or don’t live in the So Cal area and want to be a part of making a difference I would be ever so grateful if you’d donate to this amazing organization. Your donation makes a huge difference in the lives of these children [yes, most of them are young children] who struggle daily with this disease.
To donate, all you need to do is click on the Great Strides Donate Now button in my right sidebar. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donations!!
[this is my family last year. Buddy slept in the Ergo the whole walk]
